Art Exhibit
April 29, 2010
After waiting, planning, working, praying, the much anticipated art exhibit is almost here: my one person art exhibit- Oksana Prokopenko: Icons and More
- is three weeks away tonight. Here is my gorgeous postcard invitation, if you’d like to receive one – send me an email and I’ll be sure to get one over to you!
Much remains to be done, creatively and logistically, but the excitement of sharing the work of my hands and my soul is palpable to all around me.
The exhibit will be held at the Ukrainian Institute of America, corner of the East 79th St and 5th Avenue, in the midst of Museum Mile. The building is a magnificent turn-of-the-century mansion, regal and spacious, with seriousness imparted by the ages.
There will be two floors of artwork:
the ground floor, with its wood paneling, will feature mosaic icons,
and the second floor- my mixed media work.
The exhibit opens on May 20th, and will continue till the 13th of June. Be sure to stop by, if you are in the neighborhood (check the open hours), and if not- I’ll try to take many photos to share with you!
