Attention/Awareness
August 1, 2010
Art is about paying attention-
to the world around you. Really paying attention, one leaf/bird/flower petal at a time. To the feelings and thoughts it elicits. To the pencil in hand and the marks it makes.
Icons are about awareness.
It’s a tiny little distinction. It has to do with paying attention, but also with being aware of it all at once, as if all of it is part of you- the world outside and inside, the visible and the invisible, the multitude, the potential.

This is where I am right now-
the glass says: “Pay attention”.

And I reply: “I am aware of you. You and I are at One.”
